No tools and no disassembly — VERSE presents itself as a USB drive.
Settings, scenes and recordings are all kept across an update.
If you change your mind: the screen stays dark in update mode and the power button will not respond. Unplug USB and hold the power button for ten seconds to return without loading a file.

VFLOW updates itself over Wi-Fi. There is nothing to download and no cable.
Your patch, scenes and settings are all kept across an update. If an update does not start cleanly the unit rolls itself back to the previous firmware automatically.
VFLOW downloads fixture profiles over Wi-Fi from the open GDTF-share library — the industry standard for DMX fixture definitions. Thousands of community-maintained profiles, plus hundreds already on the unit.
